Choosing the right template in the FIP Wizard
Project templates in the FIP Wizard are based on Knowledge Models.
There are four main blocks of templates:
Creating FAIR Supporting Resource descriptions
Creating a description from scratch: choose FAIR Supporting Resource: This template works for both FAIR Supporting Resources and for FAIR Enablig Resources. In case you used this template for describing a resource but discover only at a later stage that you want to link it to a FAIRsharing record, you can still add this link in the field: Related metadata to which this metadata can be mapped.
Creating a FAIR Supporting Resource metadata record based on FAIRsharing description: choose FSR based on FAIRsharing This template allows you to reuse a FAIRsharing record for prefilling the description field and access links as a starting point.
Creating FAIR Implementation Profiles (FIP)
Creating a FIP focusing on essential FAIR Enabling Resource related questions: choose FAIR Implementation Profile basic This template includes a total of 21 questions. Most of these questions are already pre-answered with “No implementation choice” which can be easily revoked.
Creating a FIP including questions beyond FAIR Enabling Resources: choose FAIR Implementation Profile extended This template includes questions for FAIR Supporting Resources like validations services or editors adding up to 39 questions in total. Most of these questions are already pre-answered with “No implementation choice” which can be easily revoked.
Creating a FIP that functions as a reference for your community members: choose R-FIP This template includes questions related to all FAIR Supporting Resource Types.
